Our... read more host, Maureen, was a delight and so welcoming. Her breakfasts are delicious and very generous, in fact we were unable to eat it all. The cottage is only about a 5 minute walk to the town centre where we had dinner at the local hotel. It is also a short drive to Hobart Airport which is another reason it makes a great stop. I would most certainly recommend Mulberry Cottage to anyone travelling around Tasmania.

I am gluten intolerant and Maureen made gf blueberry piklets that were fluffy and tasted amazing. Thank you Maureen this was our first stay in a B & B and we had a great stay. We will definitely stay again.

We had 2 couples stay in the Garden Cottage in October.It was the last day of a 2 week trip around Tasmania and this b and b was a perfect... read more way to finish on a high note of what was an amazing trip in the beautiful state of Tasmania. Maureen was a terrifically organised and friendly host and the cottage is immaculate, beautifully decorated and very clean and fresh. Lots of goodies lying around on arrival and a massive and comfortable 4 poster bed in the main room. The outlook with the huge old mulberry tree as a centrepiece of the gardens was just beautiful.
Maureen kindly booked us into the hotel in Richmond which seems to be the only place open once the day tourists have left and which was consequently very busy. She also made breakfast for us at an earlier time slot than usual as we were catching a reasonably early flight that morning. And she even cooked the famous blueberry pancakes for us!! The b and b is so handy for the Hobart Airport which makes it an excellent place to stay. We loved everything about it and highly recommend it. More

Our hostess (Maureen) made us very welcome, pointing out historical snippets about the site. Breakfast was delicious - self serve cereals, toast, fruit & beverages. AND Maureen’s freshly cooked yummy blueberry pikelets/fritters. All this within a short walk to town.
Happy to recommend - happier to return!

The kitchen is basic toaster and microwave, fridge, plunger coffee. Cottage opens out onto a mulberry courtyard and actually connects to the main house.
Very comfortable stay, eclectically furnished with period furniture and contemporary highlights, it is spacious for 2 and an easy walk into the main drag of Richmond. Off street car-parking is provided.
Breakfast is hand-prepared and delivered in a basket (to be COVID-safe): basically continental, but with the option of pancakes. Very friendly hosts; we had an enjoyable stay. More

April 27, 2021We have just left Mulberry Cottage B&B today after having spent the last four nights staying there. We were in Reid’s Cottage, the history of which dates back to the... read more late 1820’s. This cottage has been brought back to life by the current owners, through an extensive renovation. Yet the character and feel of the cottage has remained intact. Our host Maureen made us feel very welcome and very much at home. Every morning we enjoyed a continental breakfast with a selection of cereals, fruits, and toast. In addition Maureen served her own delicious pikelets/pancakes every morning, which I greedily devoured. Maureen also gave us some good tips on where to eat and places to visit. Maureen was a very accomodating host, and nothing was to much trouble, which was reflected in Reid’s Cottage. Cosy, comfortable, clean and everything you would want. Because of it’s age and heritage restrictions, there is no sink in the little kitchenette, but we didn’t miss that. Easy walking distance to the Main Street and shops. In relation to Richmond itself, very old and historic, with many old buildings to admire. Overall a great stay, thank you Maureen. We will miss our morning chats.

The cottage is highly recommended and has a interesting history. Thoroughly recommend staying here although 1 night was way too short. only 26 kms form Hobart CBD and about 100 kms fro Port Aurthur

She is obviously a very stylish lady with excellent taste and has decorated her B&B with a lovely slightly French influence - very elegant.
There was nothing we could think of that wasn't included in our room, and plenty over and above our expectations.
Breakfast, which Maureen brought to our room in a cute wicker basket, filled to the brim with a wonderful continental selection, was delicious, especially her home made signature pancakes.
Really loved our stay here. Well done Maureen. You should be really proud of what you have created there at Mulberry Cottage. You definitely deserve 5 stars. More

Not many B/Bs can provide such space... read more and style, with a gorgeous lounge and separate dining area, plus entirely separate bedroom and en-suite. The furnishings and flair, appropriate for the garden cottage, were sheer class and the complimentary sherry was a nice touch.
Breakfast was very comprehensive and absolutely nothing was lacking. Nothing was too much trouble for Maureen who did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
