January 25, 2018We stayed in the Garden Cottage for two nights. It was very clean & spacious, as well as elegantly & thoughtfully appointed. Maureen was welcoming and helpful. The gardens are... read more beautiful and quiet. As others have said, the breakfast was excellent.
A great place for a weekend getaway. But for travellers, some things to note: this cottage had no available laundry facilities, so the closest laundrette is a 15 minute drive to Sorrell. Also this cottage had no cooking facilities (there is a large bar fridge & easy access to a very nice BBQ area), and dinner options in Richmond are limited to the pub (which was OK) and one cafe on Fri & Sat nights (which was excellent). I can't comment on the other cottages, but the other guests we met at breakfast seemed quite happy with their experiences.
Richmond is very quiet, & convenient for accessing Port Arthur as well as many vineyards & culinary sites. More
